Kalsiyum karbonat bu özelliğinden ötürü üretim zonları geçilirken gerek ağırlaştırıcı gerekse kaçak önleyici olarak bütün çamur tiplerinde kullanılabilir. Kalsit olarak da adlandırılmaktadır.
